Mr. Hazlett is a senior vice president and portfolio manager for global
equities in the Newport Beach office. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2010, he
was an executive consultant with FS Associates, a business and strategic
consulting firm, and was also a strategic advisor to Hong Kong-based
Keywise Capital. Before that, Mr. Hazlett served as the chief investment
officer of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, managing $1.5
billion in foundation and pension assets. He was previously managing
director of global equities at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and
oversaw a $6 billion portfolio invested across a range of U.S., non-U.S.
developed, emerging markets and other specialist strategies. He has
extensive experience researching and investing in non-U.S. and emerging
markets, including specialist opportunities in greater China, India,
Japan, Korea, Latin America, Russia and Vietnam. Earlier in his career,
Mr. Hazlett was a manager of investment research at Cambridge
Associates. He holds an undergraduate degree in economics from the
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
